Students of Vitasta School of Law Participate in Legal Awareness Programme on "Empowering Women and Strengthening Institutional Support"

Students of Vitasta School of Law actively participated in the Legal Awareness Programme on "Empowering Women and Strengthening Institutional Support", organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority on 20th June 2026. The programme aimed to promote legal literacy, strengthen institutional support mechanisms for women, and encourage greater awareness of legal rights and access to justice.


The programme was presided over by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Vikram Nath, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), and Hon'ble Mr. Justice S. V. N. Bhatti, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Supervising Judge, Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority. The event was also graced by the *Hon'ble Chief Justice Mr. Justice Sanjeev Kumar and companion Judges of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, along with senior judicial officers, legal professionals, academicians, and members of the Bar.


The distinguished dignitaries highlighted the importance of women's empowerment through legal awareness, access to justice, and effective institutional support. They emphasised the collective responsibility of legal institutions, educational establishments, and society in ensuring gender equality, protecting constitutional rights, and creating a more inclusive justice delivery system.


The students of Vitasta School of Law actively engaged in the proceedings and gained valuable insights into contemporary legal issues relating to women's rights, legal aid, and the role of legal services institutions. Their participation reflects the institution's commitment to experiential legal education and fostering socially responsible future legal professionals.


The management and faculty of Vitasta School of Law appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and reaffirmed the institution's commitment to encouraging involvement in programmes that enhance legal knowledge, civic responsibility, and professional development.
