World Environment Day Observed With Plantation Drive At Vitasta School Of Law And Humanities


 On the occasion of World Environment Day, a plantation drive was organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar, in collaboration with Vitasta School of Law, with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and encouraging collective responsibility towards environmental conservation.


The programme was presided over by Ms. Tabassum Qadir Parray, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Srinagar, and was attended by Dr. Faisal Guru, Director, Vitasta School of Law, and **Mr. Rakib Ahmad Zia, Principal, Vitasta School of Law, along with faculty members, students, legal professionals, and volunteers.


Addressing the gathering, Ms. Tabassum Qadir Parray emphasized the importance of environmental protection and highlighted the role of legal institutions and educational establishments in fostering sustainable practices. She encouraged participants to actively contribute towards environmental preservation through individual and collective efforts.


Mr. Rakib Ahmad Zia underscored the significance of environmental stewardship and stressed the need to inculcate ecological responsibility among the younger generation. He reiterated the institution's commitment to promoting environmental consciousness through meaningful initiatives.


The programme featured informative sessions by Adv. Tasneem Kausar, LADC, DLSA Srinagar, and Adv. Nazia, Pro Bono Lawyer, who highlighted the legal and social dimensions of environmental protection. The speakers discussed the importance of sustainable development, environmental laws, and the collective duty of citizens in safeguarding natural resources for future generations.


As part of the event, saplings were planted within the campus premises, symbolizing a shared commitment towards creating a greener and healthier environment. Participants enthusiastically took part in the plantation drive and pledged to continue supporting environmental conservation initiatives.


The programme was efficiently coordinated and organized by *Ms. Fatima Shah and Ms. Nosheen Ismail, whose efforts contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the event.


The event concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Ms. Shaziya Durrani and a renewed commitment by all stakeholders to work towards environmental sustainability and ecological balance.
