Seminar on the theme 'Say No To Drugs-A Step Towards Freedom'



A seminar on the theme “Say No to Drugs - A Step Towards Freedom” under the banner of Nasha Mukht Bharat was organised today by Vitasta School of Law with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. Principal Rakib Ahmad Zia was also present on the occasion and appreciated the initiative aimed at creating awareness among the youth regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The programme witnessed insightful deliberations by distinguished speakers including Dr Mehvish Haider, Syed Mujtaba and the worthy Director of the institution.


Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mehvish Haider highlighted the psychiatric and psychological aspects of drug abuse and elaborated upon the serious mental health consequences associated with substance addiction. She also interacted with students during an engaging question answer session where participants raised important concerns and queries related to drug dependence, rehabilitation, and social awareness.


Syed Mujtaba while addressing the gathering, threw light on the current data and alarming trends relating to drug abuse, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir region, emphasizing the urgent need for collective social responsibility and awareness among the younger generation.

The worthy Director also addressed the participants and spoke broadly on the menace of drug addiction, stressing the importance of education, moral responsibility and community participation in achieving the vision of a drug-free society.

The student participants actively took part in the seminar and contributed meaningfully to the discussions by raising various important issues concerning the growing threat of narcotics among youth.

The programme was collectively organised by Umar Rather and Nosheen Ismail. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Nosheen Ismail.
