The students of Vitasta School Of Law And Humanities recently concluded a highly insightful field research trip titled "Socio-Legal Implications of Social Media: A Critical Analysis", on 11 April 2026, Saturday. This educational initiative aimed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and the evolving dynamics of the digital world.
The field visit was conducted under the visionary guidance of the Director and Principal Vitasta School Of Law And Humanities whose commitment to experiential learning continues to provide students with a competitive edge in legal education. The trip was led by Sabreen Shafi, In-charge of the field visit, accompanied and co-supervised by Saqib Ayoub, both of whom facilitated the students’ engagement with various social and legal stakeholders.
During the visit, students engaged in rigorous data collection and real-world observation to understand how social media platforms influence social behavior and legal frameworks. The experience allowed participants to:
Witness how current laws are applied to digital interactions.
Observe the effects of digital connectivity on community structures.
Critically evaluate the challenges of privacy, data protection, and digital rights.
Participants called the field trip a "great learning experience" with research benefits beyond the syllabus. Through direct field interaction, students applied theory to hands-on research and questionnaires, identified gaps where law trails technology, and developed a nuanced view of balancing free expression with legal accountability on social media.
The initiative highlights Vitasta's commitment to creating legal professionals skilled in both traditional law and 21st-century socio-legal challenges.
