Under this scholarship programme Three scholarships per year will be offered by the School for studies in humanities to students who are desirous of undertaking their master’s in the premier universities of the country. One scholarship will be offered for doctoral research in specified subjects. To avail of this scholarship the desirous applicants will have to first qualify a pre test that will be conducted by the School and then secure admission in the specified universities in the country. A scholarship amount of 50,000 INR will be released by the School in installments over the two years of post graduate study and an amount of 20,000for the doctoral research/year. This amount is designed make the pursuit of higher education affordable for students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Since this scholarship is designed to benefit those students who have academic capacity but do not have enough financial support to study in universities outside the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the scholarship committee has decided that the framework of the scholarship will be designed in a way that individuals from depressed economic backgrounds will be able to avail of this scholarship.

This will be done through a pre screening of applicants on the basis of their stated economic level. This will be verified by soliciting attached documents with the application that certify to the applicants economic level by a competent authority designated by the College as such.Only those candidates who have secured at least sixty percent aggregate in their graduation will be eligible to apply for the Vitatsta scholarship.The list of the specified universities that the scholarship programe seeks to cover is as under:

1. Jawahar Lal Nehru University Delhi.

2. Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi.

3. Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.

Vitasta Law Journal (VLJ) is an annual publication. Papers on Legal Issues of importance are invited in the form of articles, book reviews and notes and comments for publication in this journal. The word length fixed is 5000, 2500 and 1500, including footnotes, for the articles, book reviews and notes and comments respectively. However, contributions exceeding the specified limit may be accepted at the discretion of the editorial board. The paper must contain an abstract of not more than 250 words and not more than 5 keywords. The citations and footnotes should be in OSCOLA (Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities) format. The main text should be in font 12, style Times New Roman and footnotes should be in font 10. The paper should be typed in double space on one side of A4 size paper and sent in compact disc (CD) or as an attachment with e-mail to All pages and footnotes should be numbered.

The contributions should include a brief bio about the author along-with phone number and email id. The papers contributed should be original and should not be published or accepted for publication elsewhere.
